AlphaPlus hosted a “Virtual Showcase: Using social media to reach, teach, and connect with learners and partners” on ZOOM in June 2023.

In this session, two literacy practitioners shared how they are using social media to connect with various stakeholders. The presenters were: Janet Oettgen, Coordinator and Instructor at the Niagara West Adult Learning Centre, and Sarah King, Instructor for Academic Upgrading, Northern College (Moosonee Campus).

Janet and Sarah shared their experiences using social media as Literacy and Basic Skills practitioners in a facilitated discussion format. Then, group discussions, questions and answers, and learning activities occurred.
