In this course,
Deaf newcomers will learn to navigate various service environments, including
the healthcare system, in Ontario. The central aim of the course is to support
Deaf newcomers’ independence and comfort navigating Canadian services, and to
strengthen their knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture within Ontario.
Curriculum Resource #3: Healthy Living Vocabulary Review and
Activities
This resource will focus on learners practicing terms and ideas
used within a healthcare / “healthy living” scenario.
Learners will complete multiple choice questions (with ASL
video) to answer questions re: course content, test their ASL sign knowledge of
terms and ideas, and reflect on scenario activities.
