This kit is the first step in making the link for learners between skills that are developed through home-based activities and the skills required in certain occupations. The following 12 common leisure or home-based activities are used:

  1. Computers for personal use (social networking, email and research)
  2. Crossword Puzzles
  3. Entertaining (party planning/hosting)
  4. Fishing
  5. Gardening
  6. Housecleaning (including laundry)
  7. Household financial management
  8. Household food management (shopping, meal planning, cooking)
  9. Household scheduling and organizing (appointments, arranging service repair)
  10. Pet Care
  11. Playing board games/playing cards
  12. Reading for personal pleasure and interest (newspapers, magazines and books)
